Rolling Opinion Poll: LegCo by-election 2007
- Distance between Anson Chan and Regina Ip shorter to 7.8%

The recent opinion poll made in November 29 by HK Investigation and Research Centre (HKIRC) and the Department of Social Work of Hong Kong Shue Yan University, has shown that among 8 candidates of Legislative Council (LegCo) by-election for HK Island, Anson Chan's supporting rate is 40.8%, Regina Ip is 33%, their difference is 7.8%.

The research institute organized 30 interviewers to conduct the poll in HK Island. Among 1548 qualified voters, 23.8% of them (368 people) reflected that they have not yet decided to vote for whom. These people will become the target of Anson Chan or Regina Ip.

The research has been done in Central and Western district, Wanchai district, Eastern district, and Southern district. Voter's preference are different in different districts. In Central district, 47% or 62 interviewee support Anson Chan, 27.3% or 36 interviewee support Regina Ip. In Wanchai district, 42% or 320 interviewee support Anson Chan, 29.4% or 224 people support Regina Ip. In Eastern district 38.2% or 190 people support Anson Chan, 37.8% or 188 support Regina Ip. In Southern district 37.6% or 59 people support Anson Chan, 40.1% or 63 people support Regina Ip.

This rolling opinion poll is conducted jointly by HK Investigation and Research Centre (HKIRC) and the Department of Social Work of Hong Kong Shue Yan University. The daily result will be published.
